When God Doesn’t Make Sense

Indonesia, October 8, 2011

I read the short book : When God Doesn’t Make Sense written by James Dobson, Ph. D. I got the lesson and I want to share something about that. In the third chapter of the book is written : GOD IS UNDERSTANDABLE, EVEN WHEN HE IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND. I learn these points :

  1. God is present and involved in our lives, even when he seems deaf or are currently on sabbatical. Read all of God’s promise in Matthew 28:20, Matthew 18:20,Proverbs 18:24 and 1 Peter 3:12
  2. God’s time schedule is PERFECT, even when He seems very late. For example, read John 11: 1-44, God’s time is not equal to the time of Mary and Martha. One is definitely : God’s timing is perfect.
  3. We are precious in God’s eyes. Read Psalm 8:5, Luke 11:13, Psalm 103:13 and John 14:9
  4. Your Arm’s Too Short to Fight with God. Read Job 38:2-7, Job 39:35 and Job 39:37-39

If you are in a “down” circumstances may be this illustration can strengthen you :

Your life is a walk with God is likened to footprints in the sand. When you relying on your own strength, then in the sand it will be seen a single pair of footprints. Then you realize you need God and invited God into your life, on the trail of sand then it will be seen two sets of footprints, it’s your footprints and God’s footprints. At one time, seen on the trail of sand there is only one pair of footprints, even though you had invited God into your life and you are also very dependent on God, but why there is only one of footprints? Good question about When God Doesn’t Make Sense, and here’s the answer: The footprints seen is definitely there’s only one pair because you’re being carried God. How beautiful ! Like a child who being carried his parents. I love this moment.

I hope this useful.

Blessings !

With love,

kei
