Di Indonesia bagian barat, gerhana akan dimulai pukul 01:25 WIB sampai 05:04 WIB. Peristiwa bulan berubah warna penuh dari cahaya putih ke merah darah ini diperkirakan terjadi mulai pukul 2:22 WIB dan berlangsung selama 100 menit dan akhirnya tertutup penuh pada pukul 3:14 WIB.
Bayangan bumi akan menutupi permukaan bulan, menandai awal dari gerhana bulan penuh. Ketika tertutup sempurna diperkirakan bulan akan berwarna merah darah. Pada saat itu, seluruh piringan bulan masuk ke dalam umbra bumi.
